Starting with an R100RS manufactured in 1990, we repaired and braced the frame along with removing the factory tabs before refinishing in a gloss black powder coat. We fitted our custom subframe incorporating a rear fender and a flush mount brake light and turn signals. The front end consists of a pair of 38mm Showa forks from a 1988 R100. Mating the original snowflake front wheel to these forks required a custom made axle and spacers, along with custom made rotors, Brembo calipers from an R100R machined down for spacing, custom brake lines and a custom fender. The result is superior handling and braking whilst retaining a stock appearance. Rear suspension is equipped with a pair of Öhlins shocks with external reservoirs. The exhaust system is a ceramic coated black and consists of Siebenrock sports headers without a crossover, finished with a pair of quiet-core mufflers from Cone Engineering. The result is a classic cafe racer with modern handling characteristics, excellent brakes and ample power.
The original 1000cc engine has been rebuilt to factory specs with upgraded electronics. Bing carburetor have been replaced with Mikuni VM34s jetted and tuned to suit. The factory airbox was drilled in the style of a 1977 R100RS. The starter was upgraded to a lightweight hi-torque unit to take less draw the from lithium battery, housed safely under the gas tank in our custom battery tray. The factory charge system was replaced with a modern upgraded unit
An original 1988 triple tree mounts the 38mm forks to the 1980 frame, finished with a custom CNC’d top triple incorporating a Motogadget Motoscope Tiny. Finished with branded 7/8 risers and Renthal handlebars and new oem hand controls, the switchgear was rewired and tied to a new custom wiring harness. The headlight has been modified to LED for brighter light and less draw on the battery.
A 19’ Snowflake rim has been powder coated black and clad in a 110/90r19 Bridgestone Spitfire tire The rear utilizes the factory 18’ Snowflake, modified with a spacer to fit an oversized 120/90r18 tire. The gas tank, front fender and headlight bucket are finished in Porsche Graphite Metallic paint and wears custom CNC roundels.
