Starting with an original R100RS manufactured in 1988, all of the components were removed and the motorcycle was stripped to the frame. We repaired and braced the frame along with removing the factory tabs before refinishing in a gloss black powder coat. The spine of the frame was extended to mount the tractor style seat and brake light. The front end comprises of a pair of Öhlins FGRT USD Forks mounted via a custom machined triple tree. CNC machined brake rotor adapters are mounted to the wheel hub and ties together the nickel finished Brembo GP4 brake calipers. Stainless 12 point ARP hardware is used throughout.

Rear suspension features a fully adjustable Öhlins mono shock with external reservoir. The exhaust is a factory item, consisting of headers, a resonator and tips. The headers are finished in a flat black cerakote whilst the resonator and tips were refinished in a high heat, texture finish powder coat The result is a uniform finish, making use of factory mounting points, whilst the system is louder than stock it provides sufficient back-pressure for proper performance.

The original engine has been rebuilt with new European specification dome top pistons and a compression ratio of 9.5:1. The heads have been refurbished and converted to TwinSpark. A hi-output ignition system powers a pair of dual coils, one mounted under the gas tank and the other in place of the diode board under the timing cover. The Mikuni carburetors have been jetted and tuned to suit, wearing a pair of machined velocity stacks with mesh screens. The factory airbox has been deleted and replaced by a fastback starter cover. Under the cover there’s an overflow canister connected to the crankcase breather to gather any blow-by. The starter was upgraded to a lightweight hi-torque unit to take less draw the from lithium battery, housed safely under the gas tank in our custom battery tray. The factory charge system was replaced with a modern upgraded unit

A /6 headlight bucket is mounted to a pair of custom fork ears, larger in diameter to fit over the modern forks, whilst retaining the mount for the factory style ignition switch. The headlight has been modified to LED for brighter light and less draw on the battery.

The speedometer is a Motogadget Motoscope Pro, mounted to the underside of the top triple using a bracket designed for the R Nine T. A cable operated under-tank master cylinder keeps the handlebars clean, grips are from Magura and the bar-end turn signals are ultra-bright units from Motogadget.

A factory R100R front hub is laced to an 18” BMW X Lace rim, cerakoted black with stainless steel spokes. The rear utilizes the factory rear hub, converted to modern sealed bearings, machined and laced to a 17” X Lace rim. The gas tank, front fender and headlight bucket finished in two tone, matte black over gloss black.
